What do I, a 'Refugee' hope to achieve?

One might jump straight on to hoping to get the magic blue IC (Malaysian Citizenship ID) but not only do I want to integrate the local community with the refugees by spreading awareness about how refugee works, I also want to focus on my own society and how to better ourselves, starting from the mindset. some but many in our society still see education as a secondary priority, performing art skills such as music as a taboo for children, and woman are not allowed to be out or speak. Education is the seed of change to the empowerment of women and children and the development of the community. I hope to see a better integration between the refugees and Malaysians as we are also humans, just like you and I. People fear what they don’t understand and they hate what they fear. I want them to understand us so they do not fear us and do not hate us.

NOW, I can say that of course, I hope to be accepted in Malaysia as a citizen, because Malaysia is all I have known and is the country whom i choose to love and be loyal to. I hope that I can prove my sincerity through giving back to the society, regardless of being called an outsider here. I will always call Malaysia home, and I have a duty to take care of my home. I want to earn the Malaysian citizenship and be proud when I do, because I’d know that I deserve it. Aside from the big elephant in the room, I also hope to continue doing start-ups, hope to recruit more refugees and to create job opportunities for them. We too can contribute and change the world when opportunities are given to us.
